At Morse Street Public School we nurture the partnership of students, staff, and parents to create and sustain a safe and caring environment where each child has the opportunity to explore and develop his or her academic potential and to acquire the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to become a responsible member of our Canadian society. We strive to foster independence and initiative in our students as well as the ability to work cooperatively with their peers and with adults. The diversity within our walls gives us the strength to build an inclusive, vibrant school community that encourages active participation in all aspects of school life.
Childcare and a TDSB Parenting and Literacy Centre
Woodgreen Child Care has a school age program with before and after school care, as well as a Kindergarten and pre-school program. The TDSB Parenting and Literacy Centre welcomes parents with pre-schoolers to drop in Monday to Thursday from 8:45-12:45.
The Living Science Room
Our Living Science Room is home to live animals that include frogs, geckos, and fish. Decorated with murals, the Room is filled with hands-on learning materials that allow our students to explore and develop a deeper understanding of life systems, of earth and space, of matter and energy, and of structures and mechanisms.
Our Library
Morse St. has a large sun-filled library. There are inviting spaces for students to gather to listen to books, spaces at tables to work with friends, and a computer lab where students Gr.1-6 learn the information technology skills they will need as learners in the 21st century. There is a section for parents of parenting books. Third Thursdays are Family Library nights!

What Sets Us Apart
We are a community and our Parent Council plays a huge role in making Morse a special place, with support from the Model Schools project. Special events and experiences enrich learning. These include visits by Scientists in the Schools, Ontario Arts Council, and plays and artists presented by Prologue to the Performing Arts. Classes have support to go on field trips - experiences that make learning real. At Halloween, parents turn out to watch as the whole school parades around the grounds. In December, each class is invited to the gym for a special Winter WonderSnack. At the Multi-Cultural Dinner each family brings a 'favourite' dish and parents, students, and staff sit down together for a community meal. Movie Night is a whole family event, as is the February Family Dance. The spring Garden Party has families contributing plants, buying plants, and spending the afternoon together . In June the Fun Fair is a tradition with games, BBQ, and a Silent Auction.
