At Alathena International Academy, we provide our students with comprehensive assistance and guidelines to better prepare them for the future. We want our students to gain admission to Canada's top universities, as well as achieve success in their endeavours beyond their academic goals. Alathena International Academy is an international private secondary school. Our primary goal is to prepare our students for success in university. Moreover, our students population consists of both part-time and full-time students. The majority of our students have completed a variety of secondary school credits in their home countries and now find themselves starting a new educational experience. We not only strive to teach the subject matter and curriculum required by the Ontario Ministry of Education, but also strive to help our students adapt into a different educational culture.
Steeles lies in the very north-western corner of Scarborough. Before the neighbourhood was developed, much of the land was covered by deciduous forest. The L'Amoreaux woodlot is the only area that retains a significant amount of original vegetation. The majority of residential development in Steeles was completed by the early 1980s. The western edge of the area is known as Huntsmill Park.
