At Thorndale Public School, we are a collaborative, respectful community of lifelong learners who value reflection, active involvement and a commitment to success. Our mission is to create lifelong learners for all members of the Thorndale community. By embracing individual differences and learning styles, we will promote independence in a respectful environment. We are committed to empowering students to discover their own strengths and affinities through differentiated instruction; fostering positive relationships between parents, staff, and students through the TRIBES agreements by modeling appropriate interactions, and celebrating differences; collaboratively planning, teaching and providing opportunities that promote independence, individual choices and self-responsibility; and sharing knowledge and experience in order to accomplish realistic and attainable goals through reflection and encouragement.

Our staff are also committed to providing a positive, energetic learning environment for students and for one another. Students at Thorndale are provided with varied opportunities to explore leadership, athletics, special interest clubs and performance arts. Thorndale welcomes the community through school council, and a wide variety of evening events throughout the school year, such as student led conferences, student performances, Family Literacy Nights and even Grandparent Nights!

We hope students, parents, community members, and staff will be an active part of Thinking, Learning, and Creating at Thorndale – Home of the Thunderbirds!
