Lancaster Public School is a dynamic kindergarten to grade 5 school that includes an Early Years Hub and Best Start Daycare. We are located in the heart of Malton, minutes away from Pearson International Airport. Our mission is to build the future, one student at a time. Our vision is to continue to develop a collaborative learning community, where students are challenged to become critical thinkers, engaging in discussions around the impact on their community from global or local events.

Engaging our students in multiple literacies of the 21st century and authentic assessments allow students to take responsibility for learning and behavior. Parents are an integral part of the school community and are included in the teaching and learning aspect of our school through numerous parent-networking sessions. Lancaster is proud to be an Ontario EcoSchool. We are involved in many initiatives that build environmental awareness from gardening in our learning grounds, to waste audits, recycling and composting. We see ourselves as the hub of our community, as we have developed many partnerships with our community associates. This allows us to offer many programs to students, parents and community members (e.g., Breakfast for Kids, Healthy Start and many more). This is the core of our ability to build and sustain relationships with our school and community families.

The Early Years Hub, located in our school, serves children of ages 0-4. Children are accompanied by their caregivers and benefit from the program, as the multidisciplinary team teaches caregivers and children the readiness skills required for kindergarten. These skills include: literacy, numeracy and independent skills. The staff consists of an Ontario certified teacher, a teaching assistant, a community outreach worker, a speech and language pathologist and a social worker. The Best Start daycare also located in our school, is affiliated with the Region of Peel, and offer before and after school programs as well as full day programs for children up to age 10. The school, the Hub and Best Start Daycare work together to provide families a seamless support system where students, parents and staff feel safe, supported and welcomed.
