What Sets Us Apart
With 8 major councils and over 20 clubs operating at Malvern, every student can particpate in extracurricular programs. A Grade 9 Co-Curricular Fair gives our new Malvernites an opportunity to learn how they can become involved beyond the classroom. Each year our teams win major regional and city-wide championships and go on to represent Toronto at the provincial level. Our athletes, parents and coaching staff are dedicated to the development and continued success of our athletic programs at Malvern. Join one of our arts clubs: Media Arts, Concert Band, Concert Choir, Jazz Choir, Jr and Sr Stage Bands, Girls’ Choir and String Ensemble. Perform in the Sounds of Toronto Concert at Massey Hall, or participate in our exciting Music trips. Get involved in our drama productions, Fashion Show, Valentine’s Day dance, Boardwalk Ball or one of many assemblies during the school year. Fun fundraisers contribute to scholarships, as well as buy music instruments. Our arts students hold an annual exhibit open to staff, students and parents.
Parent and Community Engagement
Malvern maintains strong links with its alumni group: the Red and Black Society. This group meets regularly and is involved with many initiatives. Malvern works with a very supportive parent community who contribute directly to the operation of the school through the Malvern Home and School Council. Parents support the school by funding awards for commencement and attending a variety of school activities. The Music Parents' Council also meets monthly facilitating fundraisers and events. A safe, inclusive & equitable learning climate is essential if students are to succeed in school. Malvern’s School Climate Council is a community based team that includes parents, students, staff, administration & community organisations which examines & responds to major issues regarding Malvern’s social climate with a focus in areas of safety, equity, inclusion & respect.
