"Semper Ad Meliora" means Always Towards the Better. Etobicoke Collegiate Institute (ECI) was founded in 1928 on the principles of high academic standards. As a full service secondary school we strive to reach the needs of individual students to prepare them for post-secondary success. If you are motivated to excel in both your academic and personal achievements then our school community is for you! Renowned for our strong leadership programs, incoming students may choose to be part of our Leadership Development stream. As a moderately sized school of 1000 students, we are able to offer our students a wide array of courses, opportunities and activities both inside and outside the classroom.

Student Leadership Pathway
Leadership development is a key feature of ECI. Take part in exciting leadership opportunities at every grade level. Grade 9's can apply to our LofT - Leaders of Tomorrow program and start to develop the skills, experiences and a portfolio in order to become school leaders in their senior years of high school. They will make new friends and learn what it is like to be part of a dynamic, supportive high school. In September, all grade 10 students travel to Camp White Pine for a week of skills development and friendship building with student leaders from Grades 11 & 12 - an experience not to be missed!

Academic Success
Etobicoke Collegiate has a history of Academic Success. We prepare our students for the rigors of post-secondary education, and develop independent, critical thinkers. Many of our grade 12 students are University bound and graduating as Ontario Scholars. We also offer Co-operative education to enhance learning and experience.
Robotics & Technology
We offer many courses in the technology department. Many of our students have a keen interest in this growing field and have chosen to continue on after they have graduated. Apart from the construction and auto courses, we also have robotics, manufacturing and technological design classes.
Cooperative Education
We have a dynamic and thriving cooperative education program where students at the grade 10, 11 and 12 levels are given the opportunity to obtain two, three or four credits a year by working in their community. This is an excellent chance to experience their career of interest and see if it is really an area that they want to pursue.
